A continuaci\u00f3n, mostramos un resumen del informe del programa Copernicus, publicado a finales de 2022, que nos ofrece una visi\u00f3n detallada de la situaci\u00f3n.<\/p><div>Copernicus es el Programa de Observaci\u00f3n de la Tierra de la Uni\u00f3n Europea. La Comisi\u00f3n Europea coordina y gestiona el programa Copernicus, en cuya ejecuci\u00f3n colaboran: todos los Estados miembros, la Agencia Espacial Europea (ESA), la Organizaci\u00f3n Europea para la Explotaci\u00f3n de Sat\u00e9lites Meteorol\u00f3gicos (EUMETSAT), el Centro Europeo de Previsiones Meteorol\u00f3gicas a Medio Plazo (ECMWF), las agencias de la UE y la empresa Mercator Ocean. El programa Copernicus utiliza enormes cantidades de datos globales procedentes de sat\u00e9lites y sistemas de medici\u00f3n terrestres, a\u00e9reos y mar\u00edtimos para proporcionar informaci\u00f3n que ayude a los responsables pol\u00edticos, las administraciones p\u00fablicas de los pa\u00edses europeos y las organizaciones internacionales a mejorar la calidad de vida de la ciudadan\u00eda europea. Los servicios de informaci\u00f3n proporcionados son de acceso gratuito y abierto para los usuarios.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><p><a href=\"https:\/\/climate.copernicus.eu\/sites\/default\/files\/custom-uploads\/ESOTC2022\/PR\/ESOTCsummary2022_final.pdf\">El \u00faltimo informe que proporciona el programa Copernicus<\/a> muestra que, en las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas, Europa se ha calentado m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidamente que ning\u00fan otro continente, con un aumento de las temperaturas que duplica la media mundial.<\/p><p>Gran parte del continente se ha visto afectado durante el verano por olas de calor excepcionales, alcanzando temperaturas mas altas, con valores de 10 grados por encima de los valores normales. Estos gases tienen la capacidad de retener el calor cerca de la superficie terrestre, generando un aumento en la temperatura global. Si las concentraciones de GEI contin\u00faan aumentando, los impactos ser\u00e1n cada vez m\u00e1s significativos y afectar\u00e1n a diversos aspectos de nuestra vida.<\/p><p>Es importante destacar que las actividades humanas son responsables de gran parte de las emisiones de GEI. La quema de combustibles f\u00f3siles para la producci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda, la deforestaci\u00f3n masiva, el uso excesivo de fertilizantes en la agricultura, la cr\u00eda de ganado a gran escala y la descomposici\u00f3n de residuos org\u00e1nicos en los vertederos son solo algunos de los factores que contribuyen a la liberaci\u00f3n de estos gases a la atm\u00f3sfera. Entre todos los GEI emitidos por las actividades humanas, el di\u00f3xido de carbono (CO<sub>2<\/sub>), el metano (CH<sub>4<\/sub>) y el \u00f3xido nitroso (N<sub>2<\/sub>O) son los principales responsables de alterar el clima de nuestro planeta.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section Por suerte para nosotros, las emisiones antropog\u00e9nicas de CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0han sido parcialmente compensadas por una absorci\u00f3n natural por parte de los oc\u00e9anos y la vegetaci\u00f3n.<\/p><p>Los oc\u00e9anos, en particular, act\u00faan como un sumidero importante para el CO<sub>2<\/sub>, ya que absorben una parte significativa de las emisiones antropog\u00e9nicas. Sin embargo, esta absorci\u00f3n tiene sus l\u00edmites y puede tener efectos adversos en los ecosistemas marinos, como la acidificaci\u00f3n de los oc\u00e9anos. Por otro lado, la vegetaci\u00f3n desempe\u00f1a un papel crucial en la absorci\u00f3n de CO<sub>2<\/sub> a trav\u00e9s de la fotos\u00edntesis, convirti\u00e9ndolo en materia org\u00e1nica y almacen\u00e1ndolo en los bosques y otros ecosistemas terrestres.<\/p><p>Es esencial comprender y monitorear estos intercambios netos de GEI para evaluar el equilibrio de la composici\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica y sus implicaciones para el cambio clim\u00e1tico. Adem\u00e1s, promover pr\u00e1cticas de conservaci\u00f3n de la biodiversidad y protecci\u00f3n de los ecosistemas naturales puede contribuir a aumentar los sumideros de carbono y reducir la acumulaci\u00f3n de gases de efecto invernadero en la atm\u00f3sfera.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section Tambi\u00e9n se observaron temperaturas r\u00e9cord en la superficie del mar en el Golfo de Vizcaya, el Canal de la Mancha y el Mar de Irlanda, as\u00ed como en el Mar de Noruega.<\/p><p>Estos cambios en las temperaturas marinas han tenido un impacto significativo en los ecosistemas acu\u00e1ticos y la vida marina en toda la regi\u00f3n. Los altos niveles de calor en el Mar Mediterr\u00e1neo han provocado fen\u00f3menos como la proliferaci\u00f3n de algas nocivas y la degradaci\u00f3n de los arrecifes de coral. Esta p\u00e9rdida se ha intensificado aproximadamente desde la d\u00e9cada de 1990, con glaciares en Europa que han perdido entre 9 y 34 metros de grosor de hielo, dependiendo de la regi\u00f3n, desde 1997.<\/p><p>Desde la d\u00e9cada de 1970, la p\u00e9rdida de hielo en las capas de hielo de Groenlandia y la Ant\u00e1rtida ha provocado un aumento del nivel del mar de casi 3 cm. La tasa combinada de p\u00e9rdida de hielo se ha triplicado desde la d\u00e9cada de 1980, pasando de 120 km\u00b3 por a\u00f1o en la d\u00e9cada de 1980 a alrededor de 460 km\u00b3 por a\u00f1o en la Sin embargo, los cambios observados tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n ocurriendo en el resto del planeta, aunque no exista la misma cantidad de informaci\u00f3n que en Europa. En los \u00faltimos 50 a\u00f1os, los seres humanos han modificado los ecosistemas del planeta m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida y extensamente que en ning\u00fan otro periodo comparable de la historia de la humanidad. En la actualidad, m\u00e1s del 75% de la superficie terrestre libre de hielo est\u00e1 directamente alterada por la actividad humana, y casi el 90% de la producci\u00f3n primaria neta terrestre y el 80% de la cubierta arb\u00f3rea mundial est\u00e1n bajo influencia humana directa. Del mismo modo, en el oc\u00e9ano no hay zona que no est\u00e9 afectada por la influencia humana y, una gran parte, est\u00e1 fuertemente afectada por m\u00faltiples impactos humanos como consecuencia del aumento de la carga de nutrientes por la acci\u00f3n del hombre, junto con temperaturas m\u00e1s c\u00e1lidas. Esta situaci\u00f3n es nueva por su velocidad y escala global, amenazando la capacidad \u00a0de resiliencia del Sistema Tierra.<\/div><\/div><p>Nuestro reto es gestionar nuestro planeta de forma sostenible ante los r\u00e1pidos cambios demogr\u00e1ficos, el crecimiento econ\u00f3mico, las innovaciones tecnol\u00f3gicas, las condiciones pol\u00edticas y las demandas sociales. Un paso necesario para afrontar ese reto es que toda la sociedad conozca lo que est\u00e1 pasando, haciendo visible la informaci\u00f3n \u00a0cient\u00edfica existente.
